  • Be peer reviewed by attorneys and judges
  • Pass a certified exam

The Florida Bar Association also has five criteria that must be met by the applicant:

  • Minimum of five years in that legal practice area
  • Showing of substantial involvement in that field of law
  • Passing grade on examination
  • Satisfactory peer review assessment
  • Satisfaction of certification area's continuing legal education requirements
